At the start of term 4, 2020, a total of 70 Casebrook Intermediate School students in two trips set off on an adventure to Dunedin as part of their EOTC/ Inquiry curriculum.
The experience enabled students to participate in a variety of activities however one that stood out was the visit to the Otago University Chemistry Department.
Dr. David Warren, the coordinator of the Chemistry Outreach programme at Otago University, dazzled the students with displays using liquid nitrogen and guiding the students through the process of creating their own silver.
Both students and the Casebrook teachers were blown away. The engagement levels of the students were so high that Casebrook Intermediate are excited to host Dr. David Warren at the end of May this year.
